The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning has developed the Home Energy Efficiency Scorecard in order to rate the energy efficiency of your home.
While this tool was developed by the Department, a number of independent Assessors have been authorised to use the tool. Whilst the Assessors are independent of the Department, they are bound by the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic) and the Information Privacy Principles.
As part of the rating process, the Assessors may collect personal information about you.
The Assessors will only use your personal information (such as your name, address and contact information) to complete the assessment of your home, unless you consent for your information to be used for another purpose.
The Assessor may also use aggregated information, which does not identify you for commercial purposes.
Given your information is entered into a tool developed by the Department, any information you provide will also be received by the Department. The Department may use this information to contact you or for research purposes.
Alternatively, you can contact the Commissioner for Privacy and Data Protection on 1300 666 444 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Further information is available at www.cpdp.vic.gov.au.
